Incontinence can negatively impact people’s quality of life hugely, and in Hampshire over quarter (25.6%) of people aged 65 years and over experience urinary incontinence. However, it is not an inevitable part of ageing and there are simple things that can be done to prevent, manage or in some cases even reverse it.
Hampshire County Council is running a series of free continence awareness training sessions for unpaid carers and the voluntary and community sector who work with older adults in Hampshire.
You’ll hear about:
· Types and causes of urinary incontinence
· Simple tips to prevent or manage incontinence, including using the Live Longer Better continence checklist
· Basics of continence products and skin care
· Where to get advice and more help.
You can book for their free online session via Eventbrite here: Continence Awareness - 17/12/2024 - Virtual Tickets | Eventbrite
