Planning has begun at the surgery for the Flu and Covid vaccination season.
This autumn we will be offering both vaccinations at the surgery and we will invite you to make an appointment by either telephone or text message.
Please be aware that the eligibility criteria for the Covid-19 vaccination has changed slightly this year, and will be offered to
▪️residents in a care home for older adults
▪️all adults aged 75 years and over
▪️persons aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed
Those eligible for the flu vaccination include:
▪️pregnant women
▪️those aged 65 years and over
▪️those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
▪️those in long-stay residential care homes
▪️carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
▪️close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
▪️frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme
As per the guidelines set out by the government, we will be offering vaccinations to pregnant women from 01st September and for the remaining cohorts from the 01st October.
We are also offering flu vaccinations to children who are aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2025, from 01st September. School aged children who are eligible for a flu vaccination will be offered them through the school nurses.
